Trade is a foundation of human civilisation. Trade breeds trust and friendly interaction between the people of the world. For as long as nations have traded with each other, the world has relied on its ports to be doorways between those nations.

Lately, however, ports have been shut off from the cities and public they serve by rules, regulations, and high fences.

People know their ports exist, but what they do unseen and, more often than not totally misunderstood. This has left city ports, worldwide in a precarious position of having to justify their existence on what is seen as prime waterfront land. Many people would like to see this land as public space, apartments, office blocks or fun parks. A port is a vibrant and unique place to be. if more people would appreciate the vital and exciting work that ports do every day around the world.
