Koko's activation strategy of Silo Park, as part of the Wynyard Quarter redevelopment on the Auckland Waterfront, has been an unprecedented success from day one.
Koko initiated and secured the necessary finances for a contemporary children's play space and street sport area to be included as part of the initial development stage of the park.
Koko developed the brand and identity along with a regular programme of activation with the inclusion of Silo Cinema, Silo Sessions (Live performance programme) and weekly markets. Through a public tender process with Waterfront Auckland, the Fresh Concept team were brought in to take on the contract to deliver and grow the concept and have done superbly.
Along with these regular activities Koko secured a range of other events and activities such as Laneways festival , Summer of Sculpture , a giant advent calender to support and emphasise the role of the city mission over christmas along with many other projects and random acts.
The Auckland public have wholeheartedly embraced the concept of a public space that provides for a myriad of temporary cultural events and activities, and it has quickly become a core part of Auckland city's public event calendar.
