Silo Park

When the industrial petrochemical tank farm and concrete factory on prime Auckland Waterfront land transitioned to become public space Koko was instrumental in establishing an activated public park in and around the concrete silos’s now known as Silo Park. The park has become a major destination for the city providing a unique environment for the harbour city for a range of events and a place to relax with friends and family. During the summer season, Silo Park plays host to more than 50 events, activations and exhibitions attracting people from all over Auckland and further a field. Events include the ever-popular Silo Cinema where films are projected onto the side of Silo7 to create a magical open-air movie theatre in the summer, along with food and artisan markets.

As an added bonus Koko also took out the premier design award in New Zealand for designing the modular market structures to support the park.
